Istanbul Agop Signature 22" Mel Lewis Ride

Mel Lewis was Istanbul's first endorser. After his death in 1990 and with the blessing of his family, Mel's chosen cymbals were flown back to the factory and used as models for what would become his Signature Series. Every detail of every individual cymbal has been taken in with exacting detail and replicated by the hands of their cymbalsmiths. These cymbals are their way of paying tribute to Mel's legacy in the best way they know how.

Istanbul has expanded on the original three signature sizes used by Mel Lewis in the early '80s to offer a full palette of sounds inspired by those original hand-made Turkish designs. This 22" Ride is dark, warm, and buttery with a woody stick definition. A true classic sound.
